INITIAL SETUP: Maintenance Level Unit Tools and Special Tools General Mechanic’s Tool Kit (WP 0541 00, Item 57) Materials/Parts Grommet Tablock washer (4) Preformed packing Personnel Required Unit Mechanic References See your -10 Equipment Condition Engine stopped (see your -10) Carrier blocked (see your -10) Instrument panel partially removed (WP 0256 00) Left cab floor plate removed (WP 0394 00) or (WP 0395 00) Speedometer cable housing disconnected from speedometer (WP 0516 00) REMOVAL 1. Disconnect speedometer cable housing (1) from left final drive shaft adapter (2). NOTE For M548A1, do Step 2. For M548A3, do Step 3. 2. Remove three screws (3), washers (4), and clamps (5) from weld nuts (6) that secure speedometer cable housing (1). 3. Remove nut (7), washer (8), screw (9), and clamp (10) securing speedometer shaft (11) to hand brake bracket. 0517 00-1
