M3 ELECTRIC AIR HEATER REPLACEMENT.

• General mechanic’s tool kit (Item 24,
•Vehicle parked on level ground (refer to
Appendix 1)
TM 9-2350-287-10).
•Upper and lower rear doors opened
MateriaIs Parts:
(refer to TM 9-2350-287-10).
• Adhesive sealant, (Item 6, Appendix D)
• Lockwasher (4) (Item 196, Appendix H)

NOTE
. There are four electrical heaters in the vehicle. All are replaced the same way.
l Adapters (3) fort he driver’s heaters are installed as shown. One adapter of the crew
heater is installed in the top port.
REMOVAL
Disconnect three wires (13) from heater (4).
Loosen two clamps (2 and 8). Slide clamps (2 and 8) off two hoses (1).
Pull two hoses (1) from two adapters (3).
Remove four screws (9), Iockwashers (11 ), and nuts (12) and heater (4) from deck or bracket (10). Discard
Iockwashers.
NOTE
l Perform step 5 only if lamp is inoperative.
l Perform step 6 if knob is cracked or broken.
Remove lens (6) and lamp (7). Discard lamp.
Remove knob (5) from heater (4). Discard knob.
INSTALLATION
NOTE
l Perform step 1 only if knob was removed.
l Perform step 2 only if lamp and lens were removed.

Install new knob (5) on heater (4).
