TM 9-2350-287-10STOPPING THE VEHICLE1.Release accelerator pedal (1) and slowly depress brake pedal (2) until vehicle stops.NOTEBefore applying the service brake while onsteep slopes (greater than 20 percent),adjust the driver’s seat so you can applymaximum leverage to the brake.2. With brake pedal (1) depressed, shifttransmission selector lever (3) into neutraland pull parking BRAKE LOCK handle(4) out and down. Release brake pedal(1). If stopping on a steep slope, press onbrake pedal (1) after pulling BRAKELOCKhandle (4) out and down.CAUTIONFailure to perform steps 3 and 4 beforeshutting down engine may result inengine damage.3.Set throttle control lever (5) to run engineat 1000-1200 rpm on tachometer. Runengine at this speed for 3-5 minutes oruntil coolant temperature measures 185°For less.4.Set throttle control lever (5) forward toreturn engine to normal idle (550-600rpm). Idle 1-3 minutes before stoppingengine.Change 12-99
