This number is assigned to theentry in the listing and is referenced in the narrative in-structions to identify the material, eg “Use cleaning com-pound (item 5, Appx D).”EB Column (2) – Level. This column identifies the lowest levelof maintenance that requires the listed items:C - Operator/CrewO - Organizational MaintenanceF - Direct Support MaintenanceH - General Support Maintenancecolumn (3) – National Stock Number. This is the nationalstock number assigned to the item use it to request or re-quisition the item.column (4) – Description. Indicates the federal item nameand, if required, a description to identify the item. The lastline for each item indicates the part number followed by theFederal Supply Code for Manufacturer (FSCM) in paren-theses, if applicable.Column (5) — Unit of Measure (U/M). Indicates the measureused in performing the actual maintenance function. Thismeasure is expressed by two-character alphabetical ab-breviation (such as ea, in., pr).
