ENGINE AFES - ENGINE COMPARTMENT FIRE SENSING ELEMENTS: REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION(CONTINUED)WARNINGRemove locking pin in valve actuator guard ofengine extinguisher cylinder bottle no. 2 (p 14-28). Turn engine T/A panel Maintenanceswitch to horizontal position. Turn MASTERswitch ON to activate engine AFES.DAfter sensing element is installed, move rubber bushings (6)G Remove cap from elbow coupling. Join connector of sensingon sensing element (1) so each will engage one mounting andelement (1) to bulkhead elbow coupling (2) and tighten.clip assembly (4).HInstall starter relay (p 6-45).ESecure sensing element (1) in each mounting and clipassembly (4) by flipping clip over each rubber bushing (6)IInstall powerpack (p 3-1)installed on sensing element (1). Secure clip using quarter-turn fastener (5).CAUTIONBefore installation, clean connector fittingsthoroughly with electrical contact cleaner (item74, Appx D).FRemove cap from straight coupling.
