Check condition of batter- ies and electrolyte level. Remove caps. Make sure elec- trolyte is filled to the level/split ring in the battery filler opening (vent). Add distilled water as needed. If fluid is gassing (boil- ing) notify organizational main- tenance. b. Check that vent holes in caps are clear before rein- stalling caps. c. Check battery casings for damage. Not Fully Mission Capable If: Batteries unusable. Obvious visual dam- age to battery, termi- nals, battery casings, posts or retainers. Loose or broken ca- ble or terminal. Any battery retainer missing. d. Make sure cables and ter- minals are clean and tight on posts. 2-130 Change 2
