MALFUNCTION

3. TRANSMISSION LOW OIL
PRESSURE WARNING LIGHT
COMES ON (M548A3).
CAUTION
Operating vehicle with
TRANSMISSION LOW OIL
PRESSURE warning light on
can damage transmission and
may result in unpredictable
vehicle operation. DO NOT
OPERATE vehicle with
TRANSMISSION LOW OIL
PRESSURE warning light on.
1. Reduce throttle to idle and stop
vehicle on level ground. With
transmission oil at operating
temperature (engine coolant
temperature gauge at 200
F
(98
C), set shift control to neutral
and release brakes.
2. Check TRANSMISSION OIL
CLOGGED FILTER light.
If TRANSMISSION OIL CLOGGED
FILTER light is lit, shut down engine
and notify unit maintenance.
If TRANSMISSION OIL CLOGGED
FILTER light is not lit, go to Step 3.
3. Check transmission
oil level
.
If transmission
oil level
is low, add oil
as needed per (WP 0057 00), then go to
Step 5.
If transmission oil level is not low, go
to Step 4.
4. Increase engine speed to 1200 to
1300 rpm.
5. Check light.
If TRANSMISSION LOW OIL
PRESSURE light goes off, continue
normal operation.
If TRANSMISSION LOW OIL
PRESSURE light stays lit, or lights
again, shut down engine and notify unit
maintenance.
