Inspect thrust spacer (6) for surface flatness and smoothness. Replace if not flat and smooth. Inspect inner bearing (7) and race (8) (refer to TM 9-214). Replace if defective. Inspect outer bearing (14) and race (13) (refer to TM 9-214). Replace if defective. 5. Using micrometer, inspect bearing spacer (15) for damage or distortion. Replace if defective or if ends are 6. Inspect retainer (12) for cracks or other damage. Replace if defective. 7. Inspect spindle (9) for cracks or other damage. Replace if defective. 8. Inspect lubrication fittings and relief valves for cracks or other damage.   Replace if defective. 8-3
