TM 9-2350-287-20-2 13-2.      TOWING PINTLE REPAIR (continued). a. REMOVAL 1. Remove  two  eyebolts  (1)  from rear of vehicle. 2. Remove   four   screws   (5)   and lockwashers    (4)    and    bracket (3) from rear of vehicle. Discard lockwashers. 3. Remove    cotter    pin    (2)    from slotted  nut  (8).    Discard  cotter pin. 4. Remove slotted nut (8), bearing  (7),  and  towing  pintle body (6) from bracket (3). b.   DISASSEMBLY WARNING Use care when removing retaining rings.  Retaining rings are under spring tension and can act as projectiles when released and could cause severe eye injury. 1.    Remove two retaining rings (12) from pin (13).  Discard retaining rings. WARNING Jaw will drop out of pintle body when pin is removed.  Support jaw when removing pin or injury to personnel could occur. 2. Remove pin (13) and jaw (15) from pintle body (6). 3. Remove fitting (14) from pin (13). WARNING Use care when removing retaining rings.  Retaining rings are under spring tension and can act as projectiles when released and could cause severe eye injury. 4. Remove two retaining rings (11) from pin (10).  Discard retaining rings. NOTE Spring will drop out of pintle body when latch is removed. 13-2
