TM  9-2350-287-10 CONVEYOR  CHAIN  MAINTENANCE  (continued) Chain  Repair NOTE It is not necessary to break conveyor chain to replace damaged  conveyor  pad. 1. Turn off hydraulic system. 2. Use conveyor manual crank to move damaged portion of chain to bottom side of conveyor. 3. Relieve chain tension (p. 3-43). 4. Remove  any  damaged  link  (2)  by  removing  two  cotter  pins  (1)  or  by  using  chain  breaker. 5. Make sure chain is properly meshed with drive sprocket (3) and idler sprocket (4). 6. Reconnect  chain  using  chain  link  provided  in chain repair kit. Secure link with the two cotter pins  provided. 7. Adjust  chain  tension  (p.  343). 3-42 Change  1
