OPERATING DOORS (continued)
Upper Rear Door
l Make sure travel path of upper rear door is clear of personnel
before opening or closing door. Call out CLEAR when
opening or closing, to prevent personnel from stepping in
front of door.
l When opening door from outside using lower switch, be
aware of head and shoulder clearance. Serious injury may
result if door strikes you.
l Upper rear door is very heavy. Keep feet and hands clear of
opening when opening or closing.
l During normal operation, mechanical safety lock should be
used when positioning door. Lock supports door if hydraulic
safety mechanisms fail.
l If conveyor is not to be deployed, make sure conveyor
stowage strap is secure (p. 2-151) and cables are removed
from conveyor before opening upper rear door. As door
rises above 90 degrees with cable connected, outboard
section of conveyor jumps from deployed position. Serious
injury could result.
Before opening or closing upper rear door, lower rear door must be
open and secured.
Open lower rear door (p. 2-137).
2. Activate hydraulic pump (p. 2-131).
