REPLACE FINAL DRIVE Continued

Drain final drive (WP 0155 00).
WARNING
The final drive is heavy and can cause back injury if handled improperly. Be sure to use a hoist
or a helper to remove final drive.
3.
Secure lifting bar (1) to final drive (2) with two sprocket mounting screws (3).
4.
Attach suitable lifting device of at least 165 lb (75 kg) capacity to lifting bar (1).
5.
Remove 17 screws (4), washers (5), and final drive (2) from hull (6).
CLEANING
CLEANING, INSPECTION, AND REPAIR
1.
Clean final drive and hull mounting surface with dry cleaning solvent.
2.
Replace final drive that shows cracks or leaks other than differential oil seal leak. Leaking differential oil seal can be
replaced (WP 0404 00).
3.
Check mounting surfaces and internal spline for breaks, nicks, deep scratches and burs. Repair minor damage. Replace
final drive if damage cannot be repaired.
