PROJECTILE RACK OPERATION
Projectile rack assemblies in M992 carry 90 projectiles. The rack assemblies are
arranged in two sets of five racks (1) each. The rack assemblies are mounted
against front wall of cargo compartment and are removable.
Each rack has four legs (2) which project from its top corners. Four receptacles (3)
at the base of each rack slip over the legs of the rack below. Once in place, racks
are pinned together with rods (4). Each rack assembly is secured to front wall by
brackets (5). Rack assemblies are also secured at top.
Above each rack assembly a
stowage box (6) attaches to
rack below it.
Handle projectiles carefully.
Contact between projectiles
and fire extinguisher could
cause extinguisher to dis-
charge, causing personal in-
jury or damage to the vehicle.
Right front double seat must be
stowed (under APU compart-
ment) before stowing or re-
moving projectiles from tubes
in the right lower corner.
