PURPOSE AND SCOPE
This chapter is for your use in operating and maintaining the M577A2 and M1068
Command Post Systems. If you do not find an item here, look in Chapters 1 through
3 covering the M113A2 Carrier. This chapter must be used with Chapters 1, 2, and
3 to get complete information on the M577A2 and M1068.
The M577A2 is built from the same plans as the M113A2 except that the M577A2
has a higher personnel compartment to house a command post and staff office. The
command post is equipped with mapboards, tables, blackout curtain, interior
blackout light controls, power and communication cables, and receptacles, and an
auxiliary power unit to provide direct (DC) electrical power. A tent at the rear
enlarges the command post area beyond the rear ramp when setting up a command
