REPLACE COOLING FAN AND PULLEY (M548A3) -- Continued
There is an old and a new configuration of the cooling fan and pulley. Both the old and new
configurations are removed and installed the same way. Reference TM 9-2350-247-24P for
correct part numbers of the grooved pulley and v-belt.
Remove six screws (1), washers (2), and cooling fan (3) from carrier. Have helper assist.
Remove six screws (4), washers (5), and flange (6) from cooling fan (3).
Remove lock nut (7) and washer (8). Discard lock nut.
Use mechanical puller to remove pulley (9) and key (10) from cooling fan (3).
INSPECTION-ACCEPTANCE AND REJECTION CRITERIA
Inspect fan housing and blades for cracks and deformation. Replace fan that shows either of these defects.
Inspect fan gearbox for cracks, rough or uneven rotation, and oil leaks. Replace fan that shows any of these defects.
Inspect pulley for cracks and deformation. Replace pulley that shows either of these defects.
