ADJUST ENGINE GOVERNOR THROTTLE ARM (M548A1) -- Continued

ADJUSTMENT
NOTE
Before adjusting throttle and governor throttle arm linkage, have direct support maintenance
personnel set engine governor. Idle speed should be 550 to 600 rpm at engine no-load governed
speed.
1.
Adjust engine governor throttle arm as follows:
a.
Remove screw (1) and lock nut (2) from transfer throttle link (3). Remove link from governor throttle arm (4).
Discard lock nut.
b.
Remove two screws (5) securing gauge (6) in stowed position.
c.
Remove gauge (6) and turn end-for-end. Secure with two screws (5).
d.
Loosen clamping screw (7) on governor throttle arm (4). Turn shaft (8) to the right against full throttle stop (9) in
governor housing.
e.
Align governor throttle arm (4) and gauge (6). Secure with screw (1) while shaft (8) is held against full throttle stop
(9) in governor housing.
f.
Tighten clamping screw (7) to secure governor throttle arm (4).
g.
Remove screw (1) from governor throttle arm (4) and gauge (6).
h.
Remove two screws (5) from gauge (6). Turn gauge end-for-end to stowed position. Secure gauge in stowed
position with two screws.
i.
Align governor throttle arm (4) and transfer throttle link (3). Secure with new lock nut (2) and screw (1).
